The anthology “Arts Unite Hearts” is a project proposed by Maria Tonu and was accepted by the Oakville Arts Council.
Book Description
The anthology “Arts Unite Hearts” will feature works about the role of art created by 21 authors from Oakville or Halton Region, but which reflect the artistic process in Oakville.
The anthology will reflect artistic themes on the impact of the arts to encourage public awareness and appreciation of diverse art forms, expressions, and interpretations of the arts.
Texts can be fiction or non-fiction (portraits of artists, cultural heritage, impressions from exhibitions, festivals, art, or literary criticism).
The book will be in colour, and each contributor, in addition to their portrait photo, can publish their own artwork or a photo that shows the field in which the author works.
Each author will receive a copy of the book as a gift.
The “Arts Unite Hearts” anthology will be launched at the Oakville Art Society (OAS) on December 4, 2026. Also, during the book launch, each author will present their field of activity for five minutes, so you will have the opportunity to meet a new audience. To launch the “Arts Unite Hearts” anthology, the OAS will organize an exhibition of artworks by the authors featured in the anthology. The exhibition will be open from December 2 to 7 and will offer free admission to visitors. After the volume is launched, each author has the right to present the book in their community (art institution, interest group, residential space, library, school, etc.).
Target groups: Creative people from different fields reflecting on art or literature.
As of today, August 29, 15 notable personalities have accepted the invitation to participate in the anthology.
The collection of texts (6) continues until September 14, 2026
